The Decadent Culinary Creations at the 2021 Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Arts

Updated: Feb 3

This week I flew to Orlando to check out the Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Arts. Celebrating its 5th anniversary, the 2021 festival runs through February 22nd and is a celebration of culinary, visual and performing arts. Today I’m talking all about the food!

Complimentary Festival of the Arts Passports can be found at both park entrances

and throughout the park

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

With 20 locations featuring festival exclusive dishes and drinks, Disney over delivers on the culinary arts. Complimentary Festival Passports are available at park entrances with all of the details. I counted 128 unique food and beverage offerings exclusive to this festival, making planning out your day an absolute must.

At the back of the Festival Passport you’ll find details on this year’s Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine. When you visit each of the locations mentioned and order the selected item, your Passport is stamped. Once you collect all 5, you can redeem for a colorful culinary treat at Decadent Delights in Showcase Plaza (challenge accepted)!!

The Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine

My first stop of the day was Pop Eats. I opted for the traditional Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese and Almond Frangipane Cake. Both were delish! Most portions are tasting sizes, so it’s easy to sample as many as you care to enjoy.

Next up was the entirely plant based Remy’s Ratatouille from Festival Favorites in World Showplace Events Pavilion, a scrumptious combination of eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes and yellow squash topped with red pepper piperade. Yum!

On to Vibrante & Vivido Food Studio, located between Morocco and France, where I opted for the Blue Corn Pupusa. Stuffed with cheese and topped with shredded pork, guajillo and arbol chile sauce with cabbage slaw and serrano-lime oil, this was a super rich and flavorful dish.

I absolutely had to grab a Sushi Donut from Goshiki in Japan and it did not disappoint! This creative work of culinary art is sushi rice shaped like a donut and topped with salmon, tuna, shrimp, cucumber and sesame seed on a decorated plate of wasabi aioli, sriracha and eel sauce. It was light, fresh and fun.

In Morocco I stopped by Mosaic Canteen to try their Mouskoutchou, an orange cake with cinnamon-orange chocolate mousse. Another winner!

My favorite dish of the day was the Wild Mushroom Risotto at Masterpiece Kitchen in Canada. This was selected as a 2019 Best of the Fest honoree and is an excellent vegetarian option that’s super rich in flavor. I also picked up the Vanilla, Rose Water and Pistachio Panna Cotta, which was the most creative presentation at the festival.

A few other dishes and drinks I sampled were the Pistachio Cake from The Painter's Palate in World Showplace Events Pavilion (packed with flavor), Sparkling Blueberry Wine from Citrus Blossom, a Diego Pomegranate Margarita from El Artists Hambriento in Mexico and the Colorful Cuisine reward cookie.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I could have easily spent another day (or two!) in Epcot sampling even more of the creative food and beverage offerings. I clocked nearly 28,000 steps on my quest for cuisine, so that means none of the calories counted, right?

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you can get to Orlando before this festival ends next month, I can’t recommend it enough!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Check back tomorrow for the full scoop on visual arts!
